The premium and entry form for the J6 Fall Trophy Series English/Western Schooling Shows are available here. Show dates are September 5th, October 3rd and December 5th with signup beginning at 9:00am. Entry fees are only $10 per class ($8/class for Saddle Club Members) and an arena fee of $5 per horse.
Both the English and Stockseat classes are set up by experience/ability level rather than age divisions. These include Leadline, Novice Horse and Novice, Intermediate and Open/Advanced rider/handler.
Description of divisions:
Leadline: Any age rider, under saddle with reins, while kept on a lead with a handler. Walk/Trot.
Novice Horse: Any age horse, shown in a snaffle or curb, who is not yet ready to canter with a group of horses. Walk/Trot ONLY. Horse MAY NOT cross enter into canter classes. Trot poles.
Novice Rider: Any age rider, under saddle, who is not yet ready to canter with a group of horses. Walk/Trot ONLY. Rider MAY NOT cross enter into canter classes. Trot poles.
Intermediate: Rider and Horse have basic understanding of walk/trot/canter. Can maintain control while cantering in a group. Canter departs from trot, maybe walk. Simple changes of lead. Lengthening of gait in walk and trot/jog. Cross rails and fences up to 18”.
Open/Advanced: Rider and Horse have strong understanding of walk/trot/canter. Very comfortable cantering in a group. Canter departs from halt and walk, flying changes of lead. Lengthening and collecting of all paces. Fences 2’-2’6” including oxers.
Schooling shows are a great way to get a taste of the show ring, have fun with your horse and friends and expose your horse to new experiences. All breeds and rider levels are welcome!
